What We Believe
What We Believe
We believe that God created humans to have fellowship with Him, but they defied God by sinfully going their own way.
As a result, we need God’s saving grace to end our alienation from God.
Salvation comes only through God’s grace, not human effort, and must be received personally by repentance and faith.
We believe that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our substitute.
This accomplished salvation for all who receive grace by trusting in Him alone.
He rose from the dead and is the only mediator between people and God. He will return to earth to consummate history.
Who We Are
We welcome guests each Sunday morning at 10:00 and would be happy to welcome you. Children are included in our service though there are nurseries for infants and toddlers. After the pastor's time with the children during the service, children up to second grade can leave the sanctuary and go to an adult led activity and learning experience for children.
We are a church that was founded over 125 years ago and are the oldest denomination in Cadillac. In 1969 the Selma Street UMC and the First UMC merged to become the new United Methodist Church of Cadillac. The present building was built in 1973 with additions being added in 1976 and 1978.
We open our doors to many groups in our community for use as well as the multiple activities of the local church.
The members of this church cross the age span. We seek to be A Church for All Seasons and Transitions of Your Life.
From birth to death, from preschool to college, from dating to marriage, through loss and grief, in sickness and health, we are in ministry to the community and one another.
The congregation also has a high commitment to helping others both in the local community and around the world. In Cadillac, we are actively involved in Love In the Name of Christ (Love INC), New Hope Shelter for homeless men, Habitat for Humanity, CROP Walk and Project Christmas. In addition, we support, through monetary gifts, many of the helping agencies in our area. Our mission giving to causes around the world is outstanding.
We invite you to come and worship with us, learn about God with us and plan to stay for a cup of coffee and cookies after service.
Mission & Vision
The United Methodist Church of Cadillac is called by God to represent Christ by experiencing God's love,
relating to one another in Christian faith and hope, and reaching out in compassion to all God's creation.
We do this by:
Providing meaningful worship; advancing spiritual development and sustaining vibrant fellowship; addressing the basic subsistence needs of our community; strengthening children, youth, parents and families in our congregation and community; effictively communicating who we are and what we have to share;
and working in partnership for the health and wholeness of our community.
"Growing In God’s Grace, Sharing Christ’s Love - Together."
